Offering up one of your fantastic handmade items not only acts as an advertisement for your shop, but it builds goodwill for your shop because people LOVE FREE STUFF.
How it works
In most cases giveaways will last 1 week. All you need to provide are answers to the questions below, photos of the prize (or a link to your shop if you’re allowing the winner(s) to choose from a selection of items), and answers to a few short interview questions that I’ll send you. I’ll take care of the giveaway itself, the promotion, and keeping track of entries.
At the end of the giveaway, I will draw a winner from the entrants and relay their shipping information to you, and you will ship the prize directly to the winner.
Readers will be given a list of tasks they must complete for entry. Such tasks might include:
- Sharing their favorite item from your shop on their Twitter, Facebook, or blog.
- “Liking” your fan page on Facebook
- “Liking” WhatTheCraft’s fan page on Facebook
- Follow you on Twitter
- Follow WhatTheCraft on Twitter
- Tweeting about your giveaway
- Posting a Facebook status update about this giveaway
- Blogging about your giveaway
If you’d like to sponsor a Giveaway on WhatTheCraft, email me at what.the.craft[AT]gmail.com with the following info:
- What is your giveaway item, and what is the dollar amount value of the item? If you’re not sure yet, that’s okay. There is no dollar amount limit for the prize you offer, but prizes with a value of $25+ tend to generate significantly more excitement. More excitement = more exposure for you!
- Your shop URL
- Other pertinent links you’d like included in the giveaway: your blog, Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.
- Let me know if there is any information or rules you’d like me to include in the giveaway. A special coupon code, a special entry not included in the list above, prize restrictions (are you willing to ship worldwide? only in the US? US and Canada?)
- If you have an ideal date for the giveaway to start, please let me know. Dates are first come, first served. Below is the current Giveaway calendar. If there’s a name in GREEN, that means those dates are already taken.
