How long have you been doing Indiscretion & HauteIndiscretion?
I’ve been creating things for a long, long time. I started selling online back in 2006 and had stores on both eBay and Etsy. I’ve since closed my eBay store but I continue to sell my items on Etsy and now on AttackoftheCraft.com as well.
Is it a full-time or part-time endeavor?
A little bit of both! I do have two young boys, so I try not to let the craft take over completely. It’s more of a three-quarters time job.
Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere! Especially movies, I love to watch movies and sometimes something small will catch my eye and will turn into an interesting creation. Or, which is more likely, I will see a certain color, and I will be inspired!
What is your favorite item you’ve ever made?
This dress:
It was a bright white 80′s monstrosity of a wedding dress I bought. I wanted to see how much I could do to it to transform it into something else without cutting it up. The pattern on the bodice and hem was really beautiful once I changed the overall color, and became a real eye-catcher! It took me several weeks to change the dress, including hand sewing yards and yards of black chiffon to the waistline.
If you had a million dollars, what’s the first handmade item you’d buy?

I love costume history and this reproduction is just full of ruffles – I secretly, shhhhh, love ruffles!!!!
What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
I don’t eat cereal. I like chocolate chip pancakes.
