Here’s a new video tutorial for inserting an invisible zipper… and the best part is that you don’t need an invisible zipper foot! The package will say you do, but I say, “RULES! BAH! WHO NEEDS RULES?”
Invisible/hidden zippers are great for evening wear or any garment with delicate sensibilities that may be offended by the crassness of a visible zipper. THE HORROR!
But really though, they look really classy, and they’re not too tricky. Less tricky than a standard zipper, in a lot of ways, so give it a try!

This tutorial was filmed using a Creative Labs Vado HD Digital Video Camera, a Canon Rebel (for still shots), and edited in Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

This is such a great tutorial!!! Thank you so much for this! I have one question though: I am making a dress in which the bodice is going to be lined… how does this (if at all) affect the sewing of the invisible zipper???
Since it’s just the bodice, I would baste the lining fabric to the outer fabric and then sew it up the same way. It might be considered cheating.
This tutorial shows how to attach an invisible zipper for a fully lined dress, though I’m sure you could use it for just a lined bodice as well: http://msjennyhomemaker.blogspot.com/2011/06/invisible-zipper-tutorial-fully-lined.html?m=1
Awesome! Thank you for your help!!!
