Today we started clearing off the driveway. Emphasis on “started”. Tim left me unattended, and I immediately ran over the extension cord with the snow blower (or as some brands call it, a thrower… really, spitter or spinner would be more accurate.), which caused it to jam. We had to cut the cord to pieces to get it out, and then it seemed like perhaps it was a sign that we should not clear the driveway today.
I embarked on a retail therapy journey, buying one of my most favorite things in the world… craft supplies. (Second in line would probably be food and/or kitchen gadgets and tools.) The problem for me is that buying anything is not very therapeutic (with the exception of fabric). I am an obsessive bargain hunter, so I completely exhaust myself trying to find the best possible deal. I did buy the necessary supplies today, which will very soon yield that whole new batch of awesomeness mentioned in a previous post. I know you’re shivering with anticipation. And I got to pat myself on the back for saving approximately 90 cents! Way to go!
I keep seeing people writing/sharing their New Year’s resolutions or goals or whathaveyous. I don’t like to write out my New Year’s resolutions, probably in part because I don’t like putting pressure on myself, but I also feel a little paranoid. It’s not a very specific paranoia. And it doesn’t really make sense when I think about it. Who cares if someone knows that one of my goals is to clean my studio?!
So I’m saying “fuck you!” to that little voice and writing some of my damned resolutions, because list-making is oh so much fun!
1. clean studio (heehee)
2. finish new WhatTheCraft layout
3. finish custom section of SmarmyClothes
You know, I’m starting to think if I went and looked at last year’s resolutions, they’d look exactly like this…
4. start writing again (check and check! ha.) and stick with it (doh!)
5. become passionate about physical fitness (okay, not really… I just find the term “physical fitness” really amusing and wanted to write it…)
6. write music
Yep, the more I look at this list, I’m pretty sure last year’s list was exactly the same. *sigh* No wonder I don’t like making resolution lists.
Doomed to run in circles,
-Lex
